Association Day 2017

Dear Friends

It is a joy to be writing to you as we start preparations for this year's Association meeting  just over 6 months ahead, on October 7th. I thought it would be good to send you information about the details of this year's meeting so that you can be planning ahead for this God-ordained day.

But before all the details, I thought you would like to have the letter sent to all Christian Science Associations from The Board of Directors to read and enjoy before our meeting.     Please click on this link to read the letter!

INFORMATION FOR ASSOCIATION DAY, 7 OCTOBER 2017
OATLANDS PARK HOTEL, OATLANDS DRIVE, WEYBRIDGE, SURREY KT13 9HB

Such a warm welcome awaits you on Association morning!  When you arrive you will be able to collect your name badge from a table near the hotel entrance.  This badge needs to be returned at the end of the Business Meeting.

If you are a guest or new student and are coming to Association for the first time, a member of the Committee will be waiting to welcome you when you first arrive.

The Association Meeting will be held in the York Suite, (the hotel’s Conference Room). The Meeting commences at 9.30am and the doors open at 8.45am.  The Meeting usually finishes at approximately 4.45pm.

We have arranged a light lunch for everyone in the restaurant of the hotel at a cost of £19.95 per person.

We receive many enquiries as to the cost of this special day. The Association Committee are reluctant to give a definite amount, but you may be helped to know that the average amount given is £100, including the cost of lunch  This amount is only a guide, and we know that you will give generously from a heart filled with gratitude for God’s abundant goodness. The Bible words speak to us all:  “I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened: but by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be  equality.” 11 Cor 8:13,14.

The hotel is located in Weybridge, Surrey and is only a 10 minute drive from the M25, 30 minutes from Heathrow and 45 minutes from Gatwick. It is about an hour’s drive from central London.

The closest Rail Station is Weybridge, coming from Waterloo, and is a short taxi ride from the hotel (cost approx. £7). If you wish to come from London Victoria Station, you need to change trains at Clapham Junction for Weybridge. It is not possible to avoid a taxi ride from the station to the hotel. See taxi information below.

From London Heathrow Airport – taking a taxi to the hotel is the most direct way and will cost approximately £40 if booked in advance with one of the local taxi companies listed below.  It is good to check the price with the taxi driver before starting your journey. Alternatively, use bus and train by taking the bus service to Woking, which calls outside each airport terminal every 30 minutes during the daytime.  Then from Woking Rail Station, take a train to Weybridge.   Continue to the hotel by taxi.

Or, from the central bus station take Bus 285 to Feltham Train Station then the train to Weybridge Station. Continue to the hotel by taxi. (This is quicker and cheaper than travelling via Woking Station).

From London Gatwick Airport – take the London train and change at Clapham Junction for trains to Weybridge. Continue to the hotel by taxi. Gatwick to the hotel by taxi will cost approximately £60.

From Stansted Airport – take a National Express bus service into Victoria Coach Station, London, cross the road to Victoria Rail Station. Train to Weybridge Station, changing trains at Clapham Junction.
